100% of 100%
There are days when reaching for your drink on a table is just too much trouble when you’re lounging on the sofa. Or are you always rummaging around for the remote? An armrest organiser may be what you need. You can stow away your remote in there and keep a glass of something cool within arm’s reach with a wooden armrest for your sofa. Follow the steps below to make one that will give you lots of pleasure when relaxing on the sofa.
  1. Step 1: Saw all the planks you need to size and sand gently.
  2. Step 2: Treat the MDF with a primer. Leave it to dry and then varnish in your preferred colour. Leave it to dry for 24 hours.
  3. Step 3: Screw the planks together in the following order:

    1. Plank 1 to plank 3
    2. Plank 4 to plank 3
    3. Plank 2 to planks 1, 3 and 4
    4. Plank 5 to plank 4
    5. Plank 6 to plank 5
  4. Tip

You can countersink the visible screws and cover them with wood filler or wood glue mixed with sawdust, which you then paint over for an even better finish.
  5. Step 4: Add a second coat of varnish as desired and leave to dry for 24 hours.
  6. Step 5: Install your organiser on the sofa, pour yourself a drink and relax!
